Can’t connect to a specific Wi-Fi
If you can’t connect to a specific Wi-Fi network, you could be on a captive Wi-Fi hotspot.
WhatsApp can detect when your phone connects to a captive Wi-Fi and will prompt you to ignore that Wi-Fi.
To do so, WhatsApp needs permissions to access your Wi-Fi settings.
Captive Wi-Fi hotspots often require you to log in before being able to connect to the internet. If you’re on a captive Wi-Fi, you have two choices:
- Disconnect from the Wi-Fi network and use your mobile internet connection.
- Log in to the Wi-Fi network.
