Founded in 1956, The kalgidhar Society - Baru Sahib has been working tirelessly towards transforming the lives of rural children through the tool of Value-Based Education. At the same time, Society has placed equal focus on empowering women, providing health care, and ensuring social welfare for the vulnerable people in society. With the firm belief that everyone deserves to lead a life of dignity, each initiative of The Kalgidhar Society is embedded in the core thought of Bringing Grace to the Human Race.
The Kalgidhar Society initiated its work to bring back the glory of Punjab which is free of drug and alcohol abuse through the tool of education rooted in values. In its quest of fighting drugs with books, the Society has established 129 low-cost CBSE schools and 2 universities. The Kalgidhar Society under its flagship Akal Academies program, is providing modern, value-based education to nearly 70,000 students across rural areas of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
