MABIF aims to create a hub for innovative agricultural and agribusiness solutions. This includes developing top-tier infrastructure, knowledge, human resources, and fostering a competitive yet cooperative culture. It aims to develop the first-ever seamlessly integrated agri-incubator with network linkages to the food value chain model, showcasing South Tamil Nadu as a pioneer in India's food processing sector revolution by incubating world-class agribusiness enterprises in a sustainable opportunity space.
Madurai Agribusiness Incubation Forum, an Incubation facility supported by NABARD and housed at AC&RI, TNAU Campus-Madurai. Since its inception, MABIF has nurtured 400+ startups and 500+ Farmer producer organizations (FPOs), as well as 25 individual Farmer producer organizations. Additionally, MABIF has conducted numerous training programs for farmers, focusing on capacity building and FoSTaC training for startups to enhance their business growth. By supporting startups from ideation to prototype development, MABIF has significantly impacted society by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and fostering innovation in the agribusiness sector.
At the MABIF Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre, nearly 120 trademarks, 19 patents, and 35 GIs of agricultural commodities were registered. Of these, four GIs received certification, including Cumbum grapes, Kanyakumari Matti banana, Solavandhan betel leaf, and Authoor betel leaf.
