How to mention in a group

If you’re in a group with someone, you can mention them in a message by typing @ and selecting their name. They’ll see @ next to an unread message in their chats list and can quickly catch up on messages they were mentioned in or replied to.
Mention someone in a group
- In the group chat, type @ in the message field.
- Select the member’s name from the list.
- Type your message, then click .
If you’ve been mentioned in a group
You'll see a notification with @ in your chats list next to an unread message if you’ve been mentioned or someone has replied to your message.
You can see messages you were mentioned in or replied to when you open the chat.
Note:
- Mentioning someone in a group will override any mute notifications that member has set for the group, unless they've muted your individual chat.
- The name of the member you’re mentioning might be displayed differently for other group members, depending on the way their name is saved in their address book.
