How to send media, contacts, or location

Send photos, videos, documents, stickers or contacts

  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Click
    add
    , then click:
    • Photos & Videos to select photos or videos from your computer. You can send up to 100 photos or videos at once and add a caption to each photo or video. Alternatively, you can drag and drop a photo or video directly into the text field.
    • Camera to take a photo with your computer's camera.
    • Document to select documents from your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop a document directly into the text field. The maximum allowed document size is 2 GB.
    • Contact to send the information of contacts saved in your phone's address book over WhatsApp. Select the contact you'd like to attach.
  3. Click
    send
    to send.
Note:
  • To adjust the quality of an attached photo, click
    hd media
    > Standard quality or HD quality > Done before clicking
    send
    .
  • To share a link, copy the link you'd like to share and paste it into the chat.
  • For users with a faster internet connection, the default video size limit is 100MB and 720p resolution.
  • For users with a slower internet connection, the default video size limit is 64MB and 480p resolution.
  • Status videos have a maximum duration of 30 seconds.
  • HD media isn’t currently available for status updates or profile pictures.
  • For documents, the maximum file size allowed is 2 GB.
  • High audio sample rate or professional cameras may be unsupported.

Send a voice message

  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Click
    microphone
    and start speaking into your computer's microphone.
  3. Once finished, click
    send
    to send the voice message.
Note: While recording a voice message, you can click
pause
to temporarily stop the recording and
microphone
to resume it. To cancel and delete your recording, click
delete status update
.

Save a photo or video to your computer

  1. Click the photo or video you want to save.
  2. Click
    download
    or
    download
    . If prompted, click Save.
