When Olga Sabristova moved from Kyrgyzstan to Germany in 1995, she found work at a café, and a romance quickly developed. "Every day I fell more in love with coffee," she says.
Olga felt that most cafés around her only served cheap coffee with little variety or flavor, so she was determined to make a difference. In 2011, after years of saving and training as a barista, Olga and her husband, Daniel Gallina, opened the doors to Die Kaffee Privatrösterei, a coffee shop and roastery in Düsseldorf.
Olga and Daniel recently began using the WhatsApp Business app to provide even better customer service. Features like automated messages ensure that customers always receive a response and the business profile provides important information like the café's address and business hours. Olga also circulates a newsletter to customers, announcing the arrival of new coffee blends and special events, using WhatsApp Business.
Jacques Abramowicz, a coffee enthusiast and customer, says, "[Olga] informs us about special events like wine and coffee or coffee and chocolate [on WhatsApp]. There are so many things I wouldn't be aware of without the WhatsApp group."
Xenia Belocerkov, the founder of a cold brew coffee start-up, buys all her beans from Olga. "We use WhatsApp for everything. It is really fast... and I can communicate with [Olga] directly," she says, "By email, it would take so much longer."
With over 2,200 pounds of coffee roasted every month under her watch, Die Kaffee is becoming the place Olga dreamed of creating: a café that would offer quality coffee, rich in flavor and variety, to coffee aficionados. And by making communications smoother every day, the WhatsApp Business app is letting Olga focus on doing what she loves.
