When cousins Hitesh Varyani and Parul Varyani took over the family footwear business, they decided it was time to modernize.
“In the past, we had to travel across the country with large trunks of samples to attract new customers and to promote our products,” says Parul.
To do away with the hassle, in 2018 they created Minzo India, a B2B platform for footwear.
They also want to empower local craftsman and enable them to directly connect with retailers and wholesalers.
“Our company aims to render benefits to both parties. The artisans will find a new platform to sell their products without being dependent on local traders, and wholesalers and retailers will find unrivaled prices and the best quality,” says Parul.
The 10-member Minzo India team uses the WhatsApp Business app to connect with customers.
“While our website has all the information, the WhatsApp Business app helps us give a personal touch when responding to queries and grievances,” says Parul, mentioning that most customers use the WhatsApp chat option on their website to contact them.
They also use the WhatsApp Business app to share information on new arrivals with customers. They discovered that some customers who find sales calls intrusive are more responsive over WhatsApp.
“A customer was reluctant to make a purchase and had several queries about the quality of the products,” explains Parul. “Through a WhatsApp video call, we were able to show her the product and earn her trust, which would have been difficult over a normal call.”
With a clear agenda for growth, Minzo India is stepping confidently ahead to build a strong and successful business.
