Like every parent, Pooja Khemka wants nothing but the best for her child.
"We all want our children to be safe," Pooja says. "I was reading disturbing news about school transport hazards. I personally encountered a problem when I did not reach my child's school bus stop on time to pick him up. That triggered many questions and concerns and I found that other parents shared similar concerns."
So she launched myskoolbus in 2016. Ahmedabad-based myskoolbus is a mobile and web application that tracks a school bus' location in real time and provides updates and notifications of the trips. The application is used by parents, drivers and school authorities, and has seen huge traction in less than two years, says Pooja.
"The biggest challenge we face is easily connecting to our end customer, i.e., the parent. Communicating with them becomes a simple task through WhatsApp Business."
The business connects to over 5,000 parents using WhatsApp Business on a daily basis. "We have seen 25-30% growth because of our WhatsApp support," says Pooja.
The features that they most frequently use include quick replies, labels, business profile and greeting messages.
She shares an instance of how WhatsApp Business helped them tackle a tricky situation. "A mom was waiting with her daughter at the designated bus stop right outside her home. She went inside to get her daughter's water bottle. On returning, she could not find her daughter and was concerned. We connected to our system's emergency numbers for the conductor and school, and confirmed that her daughter had boarded the bus and was safe. It was all done in a matter of 10 minutes with WhatsApp."
